The Girl Who Could (Formerly) Eat Anything

Getting fit and taking names

August 23, Plugging Along

I planned my day in advance. I even got up at 4:30 in the morning to work out on my elliptical before work. My goal is to get in an hour of exercise each morning before work (where I have to be at 6:30, so that’s a tall order). I haven’t been doing it. My bed is cozy. I like to sleep. I have lots of excuses and no drive. But it would be nice to get the workout out of the way in the morning so I can enjoy my evenings and be a little lazy.

So, I torched 457 calories on the elliptical in 45 minutes. If I had more time, I’d have rounded out to 500. But I didn’t have time, so I left it as it was. Still a victory!

My eating wasn’t bad, either, considering my huge calorie deficits from the two days before:

Breakfast: Kashi GoLean with strawberry goat milk yogurt, chai latte — 414 calories
Lunch: Boca burger with 2% cheddar cheese, ketchup, mustard and relish on a whole wheat Sandwich Thin — 360 calories
Snack: Almonds and dark chocolate — 290 calories
Dinner: Deviled eggs — 460 calories
Snack: Smoothie — 310 calories

Total: 1,834 calories

  1. I am totally impressed with your eating habits. Mine suck. Today I just started working out again…pilates. I have a feeling I won’t be able to lift my arms over my head…good thing the keyboard is not over my head.

    • Thanks! But trust me, my eating habits weren’t always so good and some days (weeks, months) they aren’t so great even now. But I try. And I’ve found that I enjoy healthier foods. I didn’t always give them a chance. Also, going vegetarian and striving to get proper nutrition forces a person out of his or her comfort zone with food and you find some really yummy stuff!
